| In the midst of a major retrospective at Tate Britian, Peter Doig is celebrating over two decades of artistic achievement. His work has been exhibited in major museums and galleries worldwide to international acclaim. Through his work, Doig seeks to create an atmosphere that will draw the viewer into an intense and beguiling perceptual experience. Derived from photographic sources or 'quasi-memories', to form grand and magical images. His pictorial world has also been shaped by the different places he has lived. Born in Scot land, he was raised in Canada and spent two decades in London before moving to Trinidad, where he now lives and works. |
